Four ways to put the light to work.

Every window is a decision about light, heat and privacy, and most of us settle that decision once and never touch the blind again. A motor changes the economics. When moving a blind costs nothing, you use it all day.

The core of the range. Blockout for bedrooms and media rooms, light-filtering for living areas, and sunscreen fabrics that cut glare while keeping the view. The motor lives inside the tube, so there is nothing to see and almost nothing to hear. Soft-stop settings mean the blind eases into place rather than banging home.

Wide spans are where motors stop being a luxury. A single motor can drive linked blinds across a run of glass up to around five metres, which is exactly the kind of blind nobody enjoys moving by hand.

A motorised track glides sheers and drapes open with none of the tug and none of the bent glider carriers that hand-drawn curtains collect. Touch-start models begin moving the moment you pull the fabric a hand's width, which guests never quite believe the first time they see it.

Tracks can be curved, joined and cut to length on site, so bay windows and corner glazing are not a problem.

Zip-guided outdoor screens turn a patio into a room. The fabric runs in side channels, so it stays drum-tight in a breeze, holds back the low western sun, and drops the temperature on a deck by several degrees in summer. Obstacle detection stops the motor the moment something is in the way and tensions the fabric on the way up.

Add a wind sensor and the screen retracts itself when a squall comes through, whether you are home or not. On the Gold Coast, that is not a gimmick.

If your existing roller blinds are in good shape, we can often swap the manual chain drive for a motor without replacing the blind. A rechargeable battery motor goes inside the existing tube, the chain goes in the bin, and the fabric you already chose keeps its job. It is the cheapest way into motorisation by a wide margin.

We will tell you at the measure whether your tubes and brackets suit a retrofit or whether new blinds are the honest answer.

Two questions decide the right setup. How the motor gets its power, and how you want to tell it what to do. We will walk you through both at the measure, and there is a right answer for every home, rented or owned, new build or not.

No electrician, no wiring, no holes in the wall beyond the brackets. Modern lithium motors run for months between charges, and charging is a phone cable and twenty minutes. A small solar panel can top the battery up so it never needs the cable at all.

On a new build or a renovation, a 240 volt motor never needs charging and disappears into the wall. It is the choice for big banks of glass, outdoor screens and anywhere the blind will work hard every single day for years.

Why motorise at all

Four honest reasons.

No cords, which matters more than it sounds

Looped cords and chains are a documented strangulation hazard for young children, and the rules around them exist for grim reasons. A motorised blind removes the hazard entirely rather than managing it. If there are kids or grandkids in the house, this is the strongest argument on the page.

Heat, glare and the power bill

A blind that closes itself during the hottest hours keeps the heat outside the glass, which is where you want it. The air conditioning works less, fabrics and furniture stop fading, and the western rooms of the house become usable at 4 pm in January.

The wide ones and the high ones

Every home has a blind nobody touches because it is three metres wide, or above the stair void, or behind the couch. A motor is how those blinds get used at all. High windows that have never once been shaded become a button press.

It simply feels good

There is a small, daily pleasure in a room that opens itself to the morning. Nobody needs it, in the way nobody needs a good coffee machine. People who have it do not go back.

The motors we fit run at around 28 to 32 decibels, which is quieter than a library. Three adjustable speeds, a soft close, and the whole run of a two-and-a-half-metre drop takes about fifteen seconds. Outside, the same quiet motors drive straight-drop blinds, zip screens and folding-arm awnings.
